It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, which usually means it’s time for brands to steal a share of mind during the highly cluttered spending season. Holiday campaigns are a great way for brands to stand out and win the business of consumers. This is usually done through engaging consumers with Christmas-themed content and in-store campaigns. As we wait in anticipation to see this year’s Christmas campaigns from local brands, here’s a look at some of our favourite global campaigns for 2018 thus far:
Burberry has become renowned for its festive campaigns, which always feature some of Britain’s most famous faces. Keeping to the same tradition, Riccardo Tisci made sure the new Christmas campaign celebrates the eccentricity of a British Christmas. Kristin Scott Thomas, Matt Smith, M.I.A, Naomi Campbell and her mother Valerie Morris-Campbell were all tapped to front the exciting campaign, which was debuted on November 13th. “Over the past few years, Burberry has become known for these campaigns and I feel honoured to take part in another one. I have always loved Burberry for its distinctive British feel and I am so excited to work alongside a cast which includes my own mother, Valerie. Working with her brought back so many memories of the holidays and traditions I had growing up – so that felt extremely special,” Naomi Campbell said of her involvement in the campaign.
German luxury brand MCM unveiled its festive holiday campaign for 2018 that features its staple accessories in quilted studs and monochromatic metallics. Dubbed “A Feast for Your Eyes,” the project finds opulence and glamour imbued with youth culture while indulging in MCM styles over a decked out holiday dinner spread. For this season, MCM tapped Lionel Richie’s offspring Miles and Sofia Richie, Poster Boy, Milk, and Galaxia Lorenzo to showcase its statement-making pieces.
Forbes’ youngest self-made billionaire, Kylie Jenner, sure loves themed campaigns for her make-up launches, and she pulled out all the stops for her brand’s festive campaign. Packaged in powder blue and dripping with snowflakes and glitter, the winter-themed collection is a departure from last year’s Naught and Nice-themed shadow palettes. Jenner’s third annual holiday collection launched on November 19th on Kylie Cosmetics.
TIFFANY & CO
This holiday season, Tiffany & Co. introduced the latest chapter of its “Believe in Dreams” campaign, which takes viewers behind the scenes of a Tiffany workshop where surprising and surreal moments unfold, featuring a star-studded cast of characters. “The holiday season is a time of year when more than ever, we’re inspired to dream,” said Reed Krakoff, chief artistic officer, Tiffany & Co. “At Tiffany, our artisans work to create magic and beauty in every piece. We created this film to bring their artistry to life and capture the spirit of a Tiffany holiday where anything is possible.” The television and digital campaign which features actress Zoë Kravitz, Xiao Wen Ju, Karen Elson, Maye Musk and the one and only Naomi Campbell began airing November 16th.
Before the holiday season kicked off, Bajan Queen, Rihanna made sure to get a head start with the launch of Fenty Beauty’s Holiday Collection. Named #CHILLOWT the collection also includes Fenty Beauty’s first-ever highlighter palette. Last week, the Savage x Fenty founder almost broke the internet when released the brand’s new holiday campaign, featuring the pop star posing topless in nothing but elbow-length black gloves, thigh-high stockings, stilettos and red undies. We’re here for Santa Riri.
