Model/TV personality Keitumetse Naomi Noinyane kicked off her career in TV at Top TV, hosting their lifestyle & entertainment show, before getting her big break in 2014 as Channel O’s iRequest presenter. A year later, the petite model was announced as the Ambassador for the Mpumalanga Black Aces soccer team, a role that would see her also host the team’s Supersport TV show. In August 2016, Naomi joined the eTV family, hosting their new show, Last Fighter Standing, alongside Hollywood actor and martial artist Michael Jai White (Angela’s Marcus from Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married). “Last Fighter Standing was an opportunity that came unexpectedly. It was a second recommendation as co-host. So when the opportunity came I couldn’t say no. What made LFS appealing to me is the fact that it’s a new concept show to the local entertainment industry and worldwide. It’s always good to partake in new projects. Also, hearing they were going to have different fighter styles (which has never been done before) excited me,” the model said.
With her gorgeous face, beautiful hair, enviable red carpet style and flawless make-up, it’s no surprise that Naomi has become a digital household name in South Africa. I have personally worked with Naomi on digital influencer campaigns for brands such as Woolworths, Rimmel London and her long-standing partnership with Brutal Fruit. Not only has Naomi successfully monetized her popularity, she has also been consistent in wanting more, and knocking on doors which have not always opened for her. This week, as the TV presenter made yet another announcement, I was reminded of one of my favourite Bible scriptures, Matthew 7:7. She has certainly been knocking on doors all these years, and they are finally being opened for her, one at a time.
In what is undoubtedly the biggest deal of her career, athleisure brand Reebok SA announced Naomi as their first African, female ambassador. In March this year, Reebok launched its Pretty Lethal campaign, an initiative whose aim is to provide women across South Africa with self-defense classes and learn how to stand up for themselves, headlined by their new ambassador. “As the new Reebok S.A ambassador the brand and I wanted to create a new campaign that would change lives in a proactive way and also address the importance of females and their value in this world,” she explained in a Zalebs interview.
“The initiative is personal to me because I aspire to inspire other females to be their best selves. To be Pretty Lethal, especially knowing the type of issues we constantly have to deal with. The initiative is a collaborative idea that speaks for both Reebok and the K Naomi brand because its main focus is on the empowerment of women… And it’s an awesome way to launch what should be an amazing journey together with both brands,” she added.
Over the weekend, the stunning Naomi dropped another bombshell, announcing that she was selected to represent South Africa in LA as part of her duties as beauty giant Maybelline’s global ‘It Girl’. “IT’S OFFICIAL BABELLINES!!! So proud to announce that I’m the latest addition to the global #MaybellineItGirl squad AND I’ll be hosting Maybelline SA’s epic #OMGloss YouTube Series,” she excitedly shared with her followers. Congratulations Naomi! You deserve all the success your career is enjoying. Wishing you many more firsts and announcements in the future.
