I wish you guys could understand how excited I am right now as I write this article. Nothing makes me happier than writing about the Kardashians, their empire after all is the inspiration behind #GTC. My faves have been going through the most this year though, including “realising stuff”, which doesn’t give me enough content for this platform. I was thrilled to learn that Khloe was finally releasing her long-awaited denim brand. “I’m so excited to announce my new denim brand @goodamerican!!! This has been such an incredible journey and I feel so blessed to be able to bring this line to women everywhere of ALL shapes and sizes,” she told fans. I’m particularly pleased to see Khloe embarking on this journey, because as a fan of the Kardashians and their work, I’m always critical of Khloe when it comes to her work ethic, or lack thereof. I’ve always imagined Khloe would be the breakout star of the family, which is what Kendall Jenner has become, thanks to her thriving modelling career. Khloe has been pegged the most entertaining Kardashian by most, due to her outspoken nature. This of course, is a prerequisite for anyone wanting to pursue a career in entertainment – outside of reality tv, and has earned the Kardashian a few tv stints, from ‘X Factor’ and ‘E! Fashion Police’ to the now cancelled ‘Kocktails With Khloe’. However, Khloe’s tv career has failed to launch, which I attribute to lack of commitment to her projects. In my mind, model Chrissy Teigen has moulded her career and positioned herself as the outspoken girl, who also happens to be on a few tv platforms, which is what I had hoped Khloe’s brand would have evolved into by now.
Over the years, I found it discouraging that she would allow her personal circumstances determine how far her career gets. In my view, Khloe’s defunct marriage to former NBA player, Lamar Odom, and the troubles that followed there-after have been an impediment to the pace of her career. However, in Khloe’s defence, she has always stated that all she has ever wanted was to be a loving wife to her beloved husband and start a family of her own. I also don’t recall Khloe striving to be seen as a business woman, or America’s biggest tv star. Perhaps, I am being unnecessarily hard on her.
Khloe has reportedly earned over $20 million from her tv shows, endorsements and merchandise over the years. With a new tv show in the works and a new denim line, this number is set to get a huge bump. E! Entertainment has ordered a six-episode first season of ‘Revenge Body with Khloe Kardashian’. The ‘Strong Looks Better Naked‘ Author is also exec producing the series through her production company ‘KhloeMoney’, with Eli Frankel and Ryan Seacrest. The blond beauty’s Good American line launches today online on goodamerican.com as well as at American chain store, Nordstrom. It seems like Khloe is finally ready to give us a show and we will be watching and cheering her on, in anticipation of her next power move, front row and all.
